Update Conference Prague bude v roce 2025 ještě lepší. Rozhodli jsme se přidat celodenní workshop na atraktivní téma .NET Modernization, který se uskuteční den před konferencí, tedy ve středu 12. listopadu 2025. Workshop proběhne v sále Virgo v konferenčním patře hotelu Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. Kapacita je omezena na 60 účastníků.
Tomáš Herceg je CEO české softwarové a konzultační firmy RIGANTI. Od roku 2009 je držitelem ocenění Microsoft MVP a v letech 2015 a 2017 byl jmenován Microsoft Regional Director. Je autorem DotVVM, open-source webového frameworku pro .NET, a pravidelně vystupuje na konferencích na témata jako .NET, web development a software architecture. Je také spoluzakladatelem Update Conference Prague, největší .NET konference v České republice.

This scenario shows how to migrate Web Forms applications to .NET 8 with minimum code changes using an open-source framework DotVVM. -
Side-by-side migration: ASP.NET Web Forms app & Blazor
This scenario shows how to migrate Web Forms applications to Blazor using .NET Upgrade Assistant and YARP-based side-by side approach. -
ASP.NET Web API + Entity Framework 6 & ASP.NET Core + EF Core
This scenario shows how to migrate classic ASP.NET Web API application using Entity Framework 6 to ASP.NET Core APIs with the latest version of EF Core.
How the Workshop will look like
Feel free to bring your own application. Use the hackathon to start migrating your real-world project. The trainer will be able to help you with:
- ASP.NET-based framework
- Windows Forms
- WPF
- Xamarin.Forms (unconfirmed)
- Technical Requirements
Important Reminder
To enjoy the full experiance of the hackathon, we recommend all attendees to bring their own laptops with the following software installed:
- Visual Studio 2022 (ASP.NET and web development and other relevant workloads based on the scenario you want to work with)
- SQL Server Express, SQL Server LocalDB, or another SQL Server edition
- SQL Server Management Studio or another tool you can use to work with the database
- Git (we will need to create branches)
- Any other software required to run "bring your project"
Schedule
9:30 – 11:30 AM – Intro to modernization – challenges, benefits and trade-offs
11:30 – 12:30 PM – Lunch break
12:30 – 3:00 PM – Hands-on part 1
3:30 – 6:00 PM – Hands-on part 2
The trainer will be present all day to give advice, ready to answer any questions or provide guidance with individual modernization steps.
